Seattle Downtown construction Columbia Center Skyscraper Renovations
The Columbia Tower, Seattle’s tallest skyscraper is set to have a brand new look come 2018. Despite standing at 76 stories, Columbia Tower, now Columbia Center, will receive a remodel focusing on the first four floors by Urban Renaissance Group. Its 73rd-floor observation deck previously underwent a renovation in 2013, increasing its 270-degree view to a 360-degree view.

The new entrance off of Fourth Avenue will receive a three-story “glass curtain” allowing light to flood into space and its new living wall. The atrium will have a new “grand feature staircase” connecting the first and second floors. New furniture will cover the new concrete floors replacing the previous brick flooring, along with new lighting and wood-slat ceilings above.

The fourth floor will house a new glass-canopy viewing deck will be added, granting views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

The Columbia Center joins another major Seattle renovation that’s about to begin, the Space Needle.

Renovations are currently underway and are scheduled to be completed in Spring 2018.
