Google moving South Lake Union Seattle commercial real estate

Google just announced a huge expansion plan to the South Lake Union neighborhood. Google already has a presence in Kirkland and Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood, but is looking to move closer to downtown.

The project will be developed by Paul Allen’s Vulcan Real Estate and consist of four eco-friendly (LEED Gold certification and Salmon-Safe accreditation) office building with an open landscaped space located along Mercer Street between Terry and Fairview avenues North. The four 6-story buildings will include 607,000 sqft of office space, and 14,000 sqft of ground floor retail space.

Construction to start 2017 and completion expected in 2019.

The sites are located on Valley Street across from Lake Union Park, with convenient access to north and south I-5 on-ramps and Seattle Streetcar.
