Bad news for condo buyers looking to set roots in the Ballard neighborhood. Due to rising construction costs, SALT Ballard, the 38-unit condo project will now be apartments.
Dave deBruyn, principalofInHaus Development, recently sent out a letter to all those who were in the negotiation stage with SALT, explaining the reason behind the decision was due torising construction cost in the Seattle area, along with other contributing factors, which have left them in a position where the project was no longer viable to proceed as a condominium.

Salt is a boutique collection of 38 bold BuiltGreen apartments. The one, two and three bedroom homes range from 550 to 1430 sq ft andoffer large open layouts and condo quality finishes!

Designed with wide plank engineered flooring in the main living areas and soft carpeting in the bedrooms; spacious balconies; Contemporary finishes include kitchens with polished quartz countertops, glass tile backsplash, under-cabinet LED lighting, and Fisher & Paykel and Bosch appliances. Buildingamenities include an underground parking garage, storage lockers, and abicycle storage and workshop.
