The 39-story, 440-foot mixed-use tower at 1430 2nd Avenue in Seattle’s downtown core is getting ready for its opening next month. Designed by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig Architects, West Edge tower, located on the southeast corner of Second Avenue and Pike Street, contains 339 luxury apartments atop ground level retail and below grade parking with 244 stalls.

The residence floor plans span from open one-bedrooms to three-bedroom penthouse units; ranging in size from a little over 500 to 2,703 square feet. The units have floor to ceiling windows, luxury appliances and finishes. West Edge’s eight penthouse units are located among the tower’s top two floors.

Some features available in select units include: private decks; upgraded bedrooms with recessed lighting and ceiling fixtures; built-in kitchen pantries and specially configured kitchen islands; a deluxe laundry room with utility sink and built-in storage; powder rooms; and deep soaking bathtubs.

West Edge’s amenities create an special living experience for their residents. The tower’s first floor is where residents will find concierge services, a coffee and refreshment station, and a fireside lounge with free wifi. There is also a 7-story atrium occupied by a large Tsuma Gaki tree. On the eighth floor is a terraces designed for dogs, in addition to restaurant space with outdoor dining and views of the water and Pike Place Market.

The tower’s entire top-floor is dedicated to resident amenity space. The fitness center provides a variety of equipment and unobstructed water and city views. There are also two entertainment suites, a conference/private dining room, and a library. Most of the rooms are available for reservation private gatherings. Lastly, the roof’s wraparound deck is partitioned so each space has a dedicated outdoor area.

The West Edge team includes Urban Visions, developer/owner; Mitsui Fudosan America, partner; and Sellen Construction, general contractor.

West Edge is scheduled to open next month with rental rates starting around $2,000.
