NEIGHBORHOOD VIBE

Magnolia is the second largest neighborhood in Seattle by area. The tranquil and family-friendly neighborhood is located on a hilly peninsula just northwest of downtown Seattle.

The neighborhood is connected to the rest of the city only by three bridges over the tracks of the BNSF Railway: West Emerson Place in the north, West Dravus Street in the center and the Magnolia Bridge in the south.

Home to the biggest park in the city, Discovery Park which occupies most of the former Fort Lawton site. At 534 acres, Discovery Park’s offerings range from hiking trails to tide pools and sandy beaches. It is the city’s largest public park and contains 11.81 miles of walking trails! It is one of the best places in the city to view wildlife. Situated on Magnolia Bluff overlooking Puget Sound, Discovery Park offers spectacular view of both the Cascade and the Olympic Mountain ranges.

Ella Bailey Park is another great neighborhood park. This park is the former playground for the adjacent former Magnolia Elementary School. The area was renovated into an open community playground with rolling slopes, play ground space, and picnic tables. The park has beautiful panoramic views of Mt. Rainier and downtown Seattle.

The neighborhood is also home to the West Point Lighthouse on Magnolia Bluff, the oldest lighthouse on Puget Sound.

MAGNOLIA RESIDENTS
